U.S. NAVAL SEA CADET CORPS
HMCM WILLIAM R. CHARETTE BATTALION
WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICIAL CENTER

Dear Parent or Prospective Cadet,

Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Program and HMCM William R. Charette Battalion. The following information will give you a brief overview of what a Naval Sea Cadet does.

The Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a nonprofit, nautically oriented, youth training and educational organization that is dedicated to developing the principles of patriotism, good citizenship, self confidence and instilling in young people a sense of duty, discipline and respect for self and others. Training is year round with a concentrated program during the summer months while they are out of school. After completion of a two week recruit training boot camp, a variety of opportunities are available such as Submarine seminars, Medical training, Leadership, Seabee and Shipboard training to name a few.

How much time will be required of you for the program? The Battalion drills are one weekend a month, normally the third weekend for our training period. As you can see, there are many opportunities for your cadet in this program that you would be proud for them to be a part of.

I would like to invite you to the next Parent/Cadet briefing that will be held on Saturday, 18 February 2012 at our drill site located at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. (USUHS, Medical College) at 9:30am. Please give me a call or e-mail me at nsccfrog@yahoo.com if you will be attending, so I can put your name on our list at the security gate. Please ensure you bring this letter and your photo ID with you.

If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call on my cell at (202) 281-8274 or at the University (301) 319-0388 on drill weekends only.

Sincerely,
CDR Isaac Colon
